Few Q's about Jailbreaking

1. If i Jailbreak, will it keep all my contacts, Apps etc? Or will i have to start again from Scratch?

2. Say i use my phone Jailbroken for a while, then decide i want to go back to stock, is there any way i could keep the apps/contacts i have added?

Probably out there somewhere, but you lot are the Guru's!

From my experience, yes to both.
If you jailbreak and then have to restore, as I've had to due to a crack in the case issue, make sure that you back your phone up first. After you restore your phone, restore from the backup you made and everything will be in there.
I've restored from a pre-jailbreak backup and a post jailbreak backup. The pre-jailbreak backup restored all my contacts but not all the apps that I had acquired after jailbreaking. I'm just thinking here now that the contacts could have updated through my mobileme service.
Anyway, the only thing that was a bit wonky after restoring from the post jailbreak state was my carrier logo hack remained in place despite everything else being back to normal. I've started a thread requesting information about this.
Good luck with the jailbreak. There are some way cool things that you can do with it.

So the contacts you added whilst jailbroken, were still there when you restored back to the original firmware?

Apps arent as bad, but Contacts would be a problem.

Well i Guess The Contacts are constantly synced with my Address Book on my MBP.... so that shouldnt be a real problem.
