Well i just picked a used 3G iphone. I understand what unlocking will allow me to do.

My question is reading up on jailbreaking basically all it allows me to customize the phone even more? like tones/themse and what not?
Im just wondering is there other advantages to it?

And also that i read that jailbreaking slows the phone down? Is that true? And how risky is it of breaking the phone

Ah, that sound very useful. Cause i did get shoutcast and then i wanted to go open safari and i realized i couldnt do it cause i had to close one app in order to go open another.

So is there performance drawbacks?

I think ill stay away from jailbreaking, seems like the performance in battery/speed of the phone go way down after jailbreaking..

With the 3G you might notice some lag depending on what jb apps or themes u install and what apps your backrounding. With the 3GS you won't notice much, with the added resources the phone is a beast.

If i pay for a app on the appstore?

And then lets say i jailbreak my phone, just to try it out?

Anyway to revert back those apps i payed for back to the iphone? Basically what im asking is can i return the iphone to the state that i left in just before i jailbroke?

Almost like system restore lol

Yes you can.

Excellent i figured out how to back it up.

Another question, once i jailbreak it. Im guessing the iphone is like all wiped out and clean? As in i dont have my previous settings and what not? Can i now restore that backup i made into the jailbroken iphone?

thanks a lot for the help
