Hello everyone!

I'm looking forward to the release for FFXIV next month and I'm currently prepping my iMac to play it in bootcamp.
I have a few questions for those of you that have experience with the alpha/beta.

I'm installing bootcamp to play this game only, so which would be the better option for me; installing an old copy of Windows XP or purchasing Windows 7?

I know that on my imac FFXI performed much better under XP than it did on Vista.

Does anyone have any real life experience they can share? The game will run under either, I'm just trying to find the method that will make it perform it's best.

I would think xp would use less resources. On my 2007 Alu. iMac the beta runs about 20 - 27 f.p.s. on the lowest settings on xp.

pavelbure,

THANK YOU!

I sent you pm about this actually. We have the same imac. and I was ready to take the plunge and buy a new one just for this game (I know... I know...)

If you are getting that framerate, you have made my day!

I don't understand this. I'm on a 2010 mbp i7 with the 512 card. I've got res turned down a bunch and all settings on Low and it's choppy still. I'm reading about people with my mbp getting smooth fps on standard settings and now a 3 year old iMac using the sam graphics settings as me and getting better performance?

So mad ha.
