Hello fellow Fido users, I have a question for you. I'm paying a bit too much for my Fido plan, I have the 35$ unlimited income calls, 30$ 6Gb, 15$ VVM+text, 6.99$ or w/e for that whatever it is, and .99$ for 911. with taxes and a few interurban/international calls here and there, comes to about 125$/mo.

One thing I noticed in the past year is that my internet usage never goes above 300Mb. Even abusing it. I don't use tethering, so I was thinking about changing my plan to the basic one, what was it, 60$ total? But I don't see it anywhere in Fido's website.
Questions:
1) Does anyone know what are the current iPhone plans?
2) Did anyone upgrade to the iPhone 3GS from 3G? What did you have to do/pay?

Not sure about Fido but Rogers has two bundled plans

$60 1 gb, 200 or 300minutes, my 5 local, VVM, unlimited fido rogers hotspots, don't remember what txt were included.

$75 2gb, 400 minutes, MY 5 Canada wide, unlimited incoming txt and 100 outgoing, VVM and unlimited Hotspot access.

I upgraded to 3Gs from 3G just had to sign a new contract so it extended my original by 1 year, didn't cost anything else (might have been some admin fee but don't remember).

Both Fido & Rogers has a $65 before taxes (roughly 79inc after taxes)

250 Daytime minutes, My 5 local, VVM (not included I don't think), Unlimited Eves/Wkends starting at 9PM, and 1GB of data per month.

Actually the poster quoted has it right, sorry.

The $60/65 plan will suit your needs as they'll change over time (multiplayer gaming, file transfers LOTS of emails with attachments, browsing, wireless synchronization, etc. It will change as your application installation choices will also change causing higher/lower needs of data transfer over the provider network.

If you can get to customer relations instead of the ordinary agents, you can get way better plans.

With Rogers, I have 250 minutes daytime, unlimited evenings/weekends from 6pm, 6g data per month, call display for 50$ a month (plus 6.95$ network access fees + 0.99$ 911).

I called Fido and apparently we cannot upgrade our iPhones - only 6 months before the 3 year contract ends. I asked the representative to lower down my montly bill then, I'm paying now the mininum. They wanted me to pay the full price of the new iPhone, about 750$. Yeah right  for a ****** camera upgrade and a freaking compass? no thanks.

I believe the Rogers deal with the upgrade was you had to have bought your 3G before Sept. (or something like that). Rogers usual upgrade is in the final year of the contract so after 2 years. I guess Fido has it's own rules, I'd call back and talk to someone else you'd probably get a different answer (ask to talk to someone in customer retention, these folks have more latitude to make deals).

since its pretty much confirmed that bell and telus will get the iphone aswell (latest by november, earliest next month), i would wait just a bit and then use that leverage to get a better deal

I have Rogers for personal and Bell for my Business phone. This thought that there's going to be these big price drops is crazy these two basically set the prices that are very close. The only competition is the competition to ripe both their customers off.
