Field Test icon now shows??

Okay, I now have a "Field Test" icon showing up. Am running installer app under 1.1.1 firmware... (+ the new Summerboard) and I can't figure out how this got there. And it's not an application that I can find under "uninstall". Anyone else have this happening?

Update: okay there is a package named FTi that adds a Field Test icon. However, I never installed it... and it only shows under "install" - it's not listed under "uninstall". I swear a couple other apps installed themselves overnight on my phone. I uninstalled them... but I'm pretty sure I never installed them. Strange things happening.

Udate #2: I think it installed when I added Customise (which I uninstalled because it won't run - just crashes )- but the Field Test still shows up.
 
It should be in Customize, rSBT. Go all the way down to the bottom, and just put it on hide...

Thanks... Customize is gone... it was very flaky and won't run.

I installed FTi (which is Field Test) - and the icon changed. Then I uninstalled it, and it's still there but the icon has a question mark (?). Anyother ideas of how to hide it? I guess I will try and install Customize again.

having the same issues...
 
I have the same problem as well. After installing customise, the fieldtest, demoapp, and contacts icons showed up on my home screen. I really dont want them there. Is there a way I can hide them? I was thinking about restoring, but if I have 1.1.1 and I restore, wont it restore to the new 1.1.2?

DONT RESTORE

Either go back to 1.13(I just posted how in a diff thread. I can help you through PM if you need it) or wait because the hidden feature is coming soon. For some reason it wasnt included in either of these updates, but it will soon.
 
Thanks for the heads up on not restoring!

Well heres the thing, I didnt really like customize and so, uninstalled it. I didnt know it would install contacts, fieldtest and demoapp on the home screen. Is there a way to remove them from the home screen totally, as it was before they were installed with customize? I dont understand hiding them if they werent visable to begin with, I just want them gone. Maybe there is a way to do this through WinSCP (im using win xp?)

If not, is there a way to hide them through summerboard, which I have installed already? I dont really know a whole lot about these apps, but i cant figure a way to do this with summerboard.
 
You can delete it.

1. Install Term-vt100
2. Load Term-vt100
3. Type the following -

cd /Applications
rm -R DemoApp.app
rm -R FieldTest.app

Then perform a hard reboot on your iphone.
 
I had the same issue after there was an update in customize and I went to change my carrier logo. Then it added the field text icon and some other icon. couldn’t find no way to delete it so I had to do a restore but then when I did that itunes made me update to 1.1.2 and now I lost all my apps till the next version of jailbreakme comes out:(

deleting DemoApp and Field Test

Hi All,

I also had the same problem after installing the 1.17 Customize.
You can remove them on your Springboard by:
1) deleting them using an iPhone browser software (e.g. WinSCP). If you're a PC user, you can download WinSCP and install OpenSSH in your iphone using Installer. Then browse Application dir. DemoAPP and FieldTest are in Application dir. If you're a Mac user, you can download iPhoneBrowser (or something similar). I use a Mac and I couldn't get hold of software that I can use to access my iPhone so I used my PC to delete them.

OR 2) you can hide by using XLauncher. Using the Installer and download XLauncher. In XLauncher you have options to toggle visibility of any icons on your SpringBoard.

I think the easiest way to hide unwanted icon is to use XLauncher as posted in this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/386708/ by Jphillippe, Post #2. That is what I used and it worked. In XLauncher, I think I used "Reset Icons" button, add the icon that I wanted to Reorder list and reorder the icon the way I wanted. Hope this help.
 
Fieltest and demoapp icon applications

I resolve the problem by simply installing Summerboard without disinstalling Customize. After the installation the two applications icons (Fieldtest and demoapp) disappears.
 
Help!!!

hey, the same thing is happening to me i now have demoapp, feild test, and contacts on my mauin menu. i am not good with technology and all that stuff im a beginner. so what is the simplest way to get these three icons off my main menu?!??!
 
im tired of this thing.

this is getting on my nerves so i tried this:
Term-vt100 and it did not work! so i just emailed the maker of customize and expressed how frustrated i was with this problem and how they need to fix it pronto. hopefully they will reply and give me some instructions to get all that crap off my main menu!
 
I encountered this problem too, how do we do it in the simplest of ways, my firmwire is 1.1.1 so idk i plan to restore n update but i heard thats a bad idea so wat do i do?

DO NOT RESTORE!! I finally got rid of myn you can do two things , the easiest way ithink is to download xlaunch in installer ,open it click the icons that u don't want to show and choose toggle visibility you might have to try that two times for it to work. OR u can upgrade the new customize program that spicy chicken has its customize 1.8 and that has toggle visibility on it. Hope this works for u it did for me !
 
I Dpnt have that x launcher up for installation but i restored it before i read the warning. But at that time my installer had limited apps.
