Today Fifa 10 was released for the iPhone. I've just downloaded it, and 1st impressions are generally quite good.
The first thing I noticed was the great UI, it seems much more professional than Real Football. But where it really shines is the gameplay. I got bored of RF really quickly, the AI seemed poor, whereas in Fifa 10, the graphics are much better and the gameplay much more fluid.
Another great feature is the commentary. Although not as comprehensive as if you were on an xbox, it's definitely nice to hear comments about what's happening on the pitch.*
Obviously one of the biggest selling points is that it has all the proper team names, right down to league 2 in the UK, which is a bonus. It also has varying levels of AI difficulty, with "amateur" being offensively easy", right up to "world class" which seems insanely hard.
EA have even brought the "be a pro" mode from the console to the iPhone, which is another great thing, although I found that in Fifa 09 I never really used it.
The control system is also better than in RF; the joystick seems a pleasure to use, and there is also accelerometer based control, which I have not yet tried, but sounds promising.
It has multiplayer over Wi-Fi which is great, however in a future update I'd love to see true multiplayer, something along the lines of xbox live, so that you could have a world ranking.
All in all it seems a great app, excellent value at only £5.99/$9.99, so I'd definitely recommend it.
What do you guys think?
