I upgraded to Sonoma because my Mac (27" iMac, 3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, Retina 5K, 2019) running Ventura started giving me the notification: "[my file] can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found." Guess what? Same thing after I upgraded to Sonoma! While still using Ventura I tried most of the fixes suggested on various sites, none of which worked, so I tried the last option "Upgrade" - so I did and still have the same problem. I can open the folders on my desk top, but when I try from the sidebar I get the error message. I'm no expert but this seems pretty stupid. What gives?

it is pretty stupid, and i've seen it often. reselecting the same item always opens it.

my collab gets this regularly on ventura. on the sonoma 14.2 beta, i haven't seen it once (yet); hoping it's (finally!) fixed...

Well, it's not! I just installed Sonoma 14.1 ...
