When I go to save a file or locate a file, and a file location dialogue box opens, things aren't sorted alphabetically. Folders are listed randomly.

I have most folders set to use groups.

I found out how to fix this.

Now for another problem: When I change default view options (I want to group by kind, sort by name), it doesn't apply to subfolders for Synology Drive and OneDrive folders. Is there a way to force all subfolders to do this? Even deleting the .DS_Store files doesn't change the behavior.

How did you fix this? In my Finder, while my folders are listed alphabetically, my files are not, even though I've selected "Name" under Item Grouping. This is a real hassle, having to search all the way through all of the files in a folder to find the one I'm looking for rather than being able to go directly to it when it was listed alphabetically (before I upgraded to Big Sur).

There's a drop down menu that allows you to group things. It appears fixed, but haven't done extensive testing on it.

There are two issues: one was the file save dialogue box and the other is Finder. I'm still having an issue where the default view options (grouped by Kind, sorted by name) doesn't apply to all subfolders.

When I select Kind instead of Name, it alphabetizes the sub-folders at the top with the files after the sub-folders in what looks like a random order. When I selected Name, the sub-folders are alphabetized at the bottom, with the other files on top in what looks like a random order. What I need is to figure out how to alphabetize the files, not just the sub-folders. Thanks!
