i guess this could be the alternative to the iPad's lacklustre filemanaging and limited web browser;

http://classic.my.eyeos.org/ -> online OS

not sure if it'll run as a full version on the iPad though because on the iPhone, it just lets you mess around with the files and not do any browsing etc

I took a quick look and this does offer a cloud based os for use in any browser, possibly even iPad. The trouble with these Ajax based things in the iPad browser is the browser doesn't support all the features like a mouse would so things like drag and drop simply will not work. I'll take another look this evening when I have more time. Thanks for pointing this out.

hi r0k, thats true. i know i'm just one of the few. but i really hope apple would create a solution for file management. i just dont understand why cant there be a documents folder that you can access and manipulate from any apps like how you would with the photos. i'm probably assuming downloading/uploading of files is restricted due to this.

Bought an HD network app

I use the air share HD app to mount my iPad. Also has a documents folder and iDisk server among others. Not perfect. Deleting and opening are both one tap.

the OS doesnt allow you to like maybe use Pages to edit some documents stored in Air Sharing then upload it onto a FTP or something? :S

Yes it does allow you to open and edit documents in other apps. In order tp upload the file back to say an FTP you'd have to email it back to yourself (to save it in air share) then move it from air share to the server.

To eliminate this stupidity Apple needs to implement a document roll like they do with photos.

+ a billion.. its been 4 major upgrades to the OS and they cant even come up with a document roll system. i'm not sure what i think of apple sometimes. they make such awesome products but clutter it with so many "strange" "actions". this particular feature seems like a no brainer for any modern day devices that aims to emulate a computer's workability to a certain extent.

I uploaded Jpegs and AVI's using my pc. The pics work fine on the iPad but video uses, guess what?? Flash Player. Sn :apple:
