File Sharing/Storage interface

I would like to have a simple file upload/download interface on my web space for me to store and share files for my group projects.

Does anyone know of a good way to do this or even better, and already made web application that will accomplish this task?

I should make it clear, I don't want a service, I want a program to install on my web hosted space. I have webspace (lots of it) on bluehost and would like to have a file management interface other than the one in the cPanel that others can use as well.

My university has xythos and I really like it but it is expensive and rather overkill for me.

Any ideas?
