Regardless of the upcoming Macworld and all that jazz I couldn't wait any longer. I went out and bought Donna, my 12" powerbook w/ superdrive. Now I need some help. I've turned file sharing on on both my ibook and Donna. I've connected both with a patch cable and a firewire cable but neither computer is talking.

Anyone know how to help me transfer over these files??

on your powerbook when using the firewire cable hold down the "t" key when starting up from cold and the powerbook will become a big hardrive

I had to transfer from my iMac when i got my 12" PB but because Firewire is a bit screwed on the iMac the target disk mode didnt work so I just connected the 2 with a network cable then turned on Appletalk and File Sharing then they could see each other, I think I restarted while they were connected as well just to make sure.
Hope it goes smoothly.

make sure you have AppleTalk turned on as well...this is in the Network panel of System Preferences. if you have them connected, AT turned on, and file sharing turned on, all you should have to do is press cmd+k in the finder and it should find the shares.
