iPad files app unresponsive

any idea why files app is so unreponsive with copying and displaying pdfs? ipad pro 2017 10.5
i also cant delete a pdf from one drive

What kind of drive? An external drive?

microsofts one drive. i deleted it and got my files into the ipad section, probably the one drive was faulty
