Files directory on native iPad storage

is this possible? So far I can link and create folders in apps like drop box or iCloud Drive. However how Can I do the same on the native iPad storage

I think this still requires using some kind of container, i.e. either a document provider such as the Documents app or an app that uses local storage, e.g. Garageband without iCloud enabled. Don't quote me on this though. All seems pretty confusing to me.

Why is a container required when it’s not on other sources?
