Ok recently some really weird stuff has been going on with my powerbook.Wenever i open certain folders i get this weird file that is labelled something like iNode followed by a number when i click on it it just disapers and often takes another file with it or something like that. with a restart i usually get my file back but its annoying, anyone know what this might be.

I've been experiencing the same problem, or something like it, on my iBook. I've never seen this "iNode" file that you mentioned, but sometimes I'll click on a file and it'll just disappear. I'll close the Finder window and reopen whatever folder contained my file, but it's still not there. This happens on my hard drive and also in CD/DVD's that I might have in the computer. It only happens to files that I select, and it doesn't always happen, but the only way to get it to display again is to restart my computer. It's very similar to the problem that the original poster is experiencing, so if anyone knows what's going on, help us out!

1- Could be a permission issue. Try fixing permissions.

2- Could be a corrupted user. Create a new user and see if the weird bug still exists.

3- Definitely sounds like a corrupted hard drive b-tree or catalog file. Try running disk warrior.

Hope this helps,
