First, the background. I'm a small business owner who is always out on the road. I currently have a Treo 750 running WM, but I want to switch to the iPhone. I use a laptop running Windows XP (but plan a switch as soon as the new MacBook is out).

Now, the question. The Treo allows me to store files and email them as I'm standing in front of someone. Will either of the four options above allow me to email files that I'm storing on the iPhone?

Thanks for your help on this.

I'm not certain ... but I do believe that I read somewhere that this email functionality within the storage apps is NOT allowed by Apple ... let's see some other responses, but again, this is my recollection

FYI - you named a few data storage apps ... make sure you include AIR SHARING ... its currently free and I prefer it over DataCase which I purchased when it first came out.

Yeah, and that's what I'm most worried about. If not then I'm stuck carrying a laptop around with me and needing to find Panera, Starbucks, etc. whenever I need access to email files.

Are there a lot of different files you would need to send? It's not ideal, but a possible temporary measure until a better solution comes up: you could email the files to yourself, keep the emails on your phone, and then forward them to someone as needed.

Not great, but if it gets you an iphone sooner, something to consider :)

MobileFinder

I use mobile finder because if your friend is in europe you can access that file by him giving you his IP address. You use any FTP client and it works with both Mac, Linux, XP, and Vista. is so dang cool..

Is there really no one in here who has this need and has tried (and either succeeded or failed)?

I have reviewed MobileFinder and air sharing, they are both file holding apps. I'm about to review Datacase, it should be up in like 30 - 45 minutes

=] happy reading.

Zym-

Thanks for the read. I didn't, however, find the answer I was looking for. Either I'm an idiot (very possible) or I just missed it.

Does anyone know about this? For those of you who are stockholders, this is another sale to make. For those of you who are fanboys, well, this is your chance to have a convert.

Thanks!
