So, I have this older WD external HD with about 900 gigs worth of movies and what not. I hooked it up to my brand new 2020 M1 Macbook air and it's not allowing me to see about 98% of them. I know they're on the HD but i cant access them with the MB air. My older MB pro seemed to allow me to do this prior to Big Sir. The files are there verified by the xbox. Is there a work around or is it an OS issue? Maybe the OS doesn't recognize some file types? What gives?

Totally understand. The HD works and i can get into it. Just a lot of the files i know are on it are missing when plugged into the MBA. Like the files are totally not recognized.
