1. Can you make a folder and save it Locally to an iPad or iPhone instead of iCloud Drive?

2. If I store photos and videos in a folder for work projects in Files, does that mean they will never show up with my personal photos in Photos app?

3. Is there a way to drag an image straight from a website into a folder in the Files app?

Thanks

1. Yes, but not on the my IPad section. You’ll need an app like Documents by Readdle. That will give you a location in Files to store whatever you want locally

2. Yes

3. Either put Files side by side and drag and drop that way or start dragging from Safari, slide up from the bottom with another finger to either go to multitasking or go home as needed and locate and drop it in Files.

Does everything saved to the Files app just use your available iCloud storage space?

I ended up just pulling the dock up and dragging an image into the Files app in the dock. Amazingly better than before. What did you mean by go to multitasking or go home?

Thanks.

I’m in a hurry so this answer will have to be brief.

Swipe a single finger up from the bottom to pull up the dock and multitasking view. If Files is already open in that you can hover over it and then drop it exactly where you want to in Files.

If it’s not keep dragging and press the home button (seems I misspoke and the long swipe is not an option when dragging in this release) to go home, locate Files or any other app then hover your picture over it to Open the app.

Yes, it will use iCloud by default I think. You need to open the app to choose somewhere else.

So I need a third-party app, to enable Files to locally download to that app, when I can already do that, via the share sheet...

What’s the point of Files?

I just noticed a new option in the share sheet when using safari to create a PDF. I used it and it gave me an option to either save it to iCloud Drive or to the iPad.
