During yesterday's keynote there were new icons for Final cut and logic so i figured a big sur update would come out tomorrow along with big surfinal cut & logic pro already run on big sur, have since the betas started. the caveat (for me): a good number of 3rd-party plugins don't show up in logic... waiting for developers to fix this.
but the apps themselves work.

Technically they should be released tomorrow as opposed to when the new Macs are released because Big Sur is coming out tomorrow, don’t you agree?logic 10.6 is already mentioned on the new mac pages, so it's real. and FCPX should update at the same time. so am guessing we'll see them any minute now (or, at least, when the new macs start shipping).
but again, the current versions run on big sur, so not sure that's a deciding factor (that big sur drops tomorrow). either way, should be (very) soon...Technically they should be released tomorrow as opposed to when the new Macs are released because Big Sur is coming out tomorrow, don’t you agree?
They may "Run" but they're not optimized for Big Sur so how could apple let a major operation system out and not update it's core apps such as Keynote, Numbers, etc including Logic and Final Cut pro?but again, the current versions run on big sur, so not sure that's a deciding factor (that big sur drops tomorrow). either way, should be (very) soon...
That sounds promising , Thank youLast year they updated Final Cut Pro on Catalina release date.
We havent heard anything about CoreAudio or CoreMIDI so Im not even so sure there's anything Logic might need to be 'optimized' for to begin with. It runs as well as it always has all the way back to Platinum 4, hasn't taken any performance hits at all. I did have some invisible plugins up until beta 9 when they all reappeared. Everything else is working fine. Maybe this update is for a new Ultrabeat GUI now that they finally killed the almost 20 year old EXS horror heh.
your invisible plugins returned? i went back to catalina (on my work mac) because 9 of my plugins didn't show; maybe i will try again with the 'final' version today. good info, thanx! We havent heard anything about CoreAudio or CoreMIDI so Im not even so sure there's anything Logic might need to be 'optimized' for to begin with. The final is probably the same as RC version so i highly doubt it, Thats why they MUST release logic and final cut updates today, it would be beyond dumb and bizzare if they didnt, Numbers pages and all their core apps also MUST be updated today either at the same time as big sur comes out or before it comes outyour invisible plugins returned? i went back to catalina (on my work mac) because 9 of my plugins didn't show; maybe i will try again with the 'final' version today. good info, thanx!
What do you mean?Well cant install Big Sur so hopefully the Logic update works haha.
You must have missed all of Macrumours complaining that Apple's servers aren't working for the Big Sur release? What do you mean?
I did but why would the new version of Logic and Final cut not work on catalina?(is it a Big Sur only release?)You must have missed all of Macrumours complaining that Apple's servers aren't working for the Big Sur release?
