Final cut pro cd scratched

Hey i recently scratched my final cut pro 3 cd. I have the serial # but now i cant install the software because it wont run the disc. Do i have to go out and pay for a new final cut pro? I cant afford it. Is there anyway for me to download the .dmg?

Call Apple help, I'm sure that if you were to mail in your disk they would be willing to send you another one.

Call customer service and they can probably send you a new CD for the cost of shipping. If the first person you talk to can't help you, escalate to a manager.

Slightly off-topic but worth repeating:
The golden rule of working with customer service is that the first person you talk to is there to follow the rules. Once you move up the chain, however, you find people with increasing power to bend and even break rules.
