Hi!

I'm in the process of editing a music video. Yesterday, I upgraded to Yosemite and now my Final Cut Pro 10.0.3 won't work.

When I try to open my project file, it turns into a bunch of text edit jargon.

I tried opening Final Cut via this how to: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1740846/

And Final Cut looked like it was loading for a while and now it keeps saying "Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly.

Tried opening my session file on another computer that is upgraded to Yosemite where I downloaded the new version of Final Cut yesterday and it still won't open.

Is there anyway to either:
1) convert my editing session to work with the new final cut on the other yosemite computer
2) get my final cut to work on my laptop

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Please let me know if more information is needed to help me diagnose this!

The current version is 10.1.3 Is this the version you have? You wrote 10.0.3

If youu don't have 10.1.3, please update your FCPX and retest.

The version I have is indeed 10.0.3..

Also, it was a pirated version of final cut...
Am I screwed?

I tried plugging my external drive with my project folder into a computer with the latest version of final cut and it did not read my files.

Is there a way for me to revert back to OS X 6.8 (what I had before switching to Yosemite yesterday) to finish this project? Or even a way to somehow upgrade my final cut project file if that will help?

Not screwed. It's just time that you need to pay the piper and poney up for a legal version. 10.1.3 will work with Yosemite...

I'm not sure why it's not reading your files. Are you saying you can use the latest version from an external drive, but it's not reading your files? Permissions perhaps??? I don't know...

To upgrade to the newest version, you have to login to the App store and purchase it. I don't know any other way persoally.

The only way to go back to your old OS version is to restore from a backup, or clean install from "Install Media" .

You guys were right!

All I had to do was be a big girl and upgrade to the latest Final Cut, click File>Update Projects and Events, locate my files, and - voila! - the music video was saved.

Thanks for bearing with me!
