Okay, you guys are probably sick of my by now. (^_^) Well, I have made my decision. Since I do not want to wait six months for all the bugs and glitches to be fixed for the Intel iMacs, I'm going to get a maxed out Mac Mini. My other reason is because I don't want to wait six months for Photoshop to actually not run like crap on the Intel iMacs.

I have a question though since I didn't see this in any of the Mac Mini reviews. How well do Adobe programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop work on a Mac Mini with 1.42GHz and 1GB of RAM? Would I also need to upgrade the 80 GB Hard Drive to 100? Thanks so much again.

i find no problems running either on my 1.25 mini - but then again i started out doing this stuff on a 486 so i'm used to waiting for things to load and so on, and i've never worked on a G5.
the biggest issue with the mini is the (notebook) drive speed (which i believe they've silently bumped up on the new models, but is still slower than standard desktop drives) - but you'd probably want an external firewire for photoshop scratch disks and work files anyway.

otherwise, it's beautiful, silent and tiny (i use it as a portable to take into work)

I was playing with photoshop CS (and iLife 06) on one of the 1.8 Duo Core's this afternoon at the apple store.

seemed only slightly slower than my 1.8 iMac at home.
and mine had 1.5Gb or Ram, the store one was the basic 512mb.

He said that because I said:

"My other reason is because I don't want to wait six months for Photoshop to actually not run like crap on the Intel iMacs."

He saying that Photoshop doesn't run that badly on the Intels, but I heard the total opposite from many sources.

Oh yeah, you can close this thread now 'cause I ordered my maxed out Mac Mini today. It comes with iLife '06! (^_^)
