I preordered an iPhone 12 Pro 128GB, enrolling through the Apple Upgrade program and the price before tax is showing as nearly $1300 before tax! I didn’t add any extras like theft and loss protection.

Does anyone have any idea how this breaks down? I don’t look forward to interacting with a bot through Apple’s customer “service” to figure this out.

The final price was a bit of a shock for me as well with my 256GB Pro, but it includes two years of AppleCare+ and taxes, so I don't think it's a mistake.

That's if you keep the phone.
You will upgrade every year, right?
After 12 months you will have paid $600 before tax

iPhone upgrade plan is $49 a month for your options, remember it includes Apple Care so is more expensive than carrier monthly payments. You are always charged tax on the full price of the device at purchase. Tax plus your installment equals the price you paid.

Oh, ok then. I thought AppleCare+ was “included” for some reason. A breakdown of the final price would have been nice as part of the user experience.
