I almost cant wait any longer. Been looking at the highend 21.5 and (maybe) the i5 for a while now.

My final sticking point is USB 3.0. I have (3 x) 2TB external harddrives and on the occasion I have to transfer everything (1.5TB data) across to certain ones (long story). But as you can tell USB 2.0 is not sufficient enough as it takes 24 hours + to transfer the entire data from one to another. Im soon going to purchase (3 x) 3TB Seagate drives which you can add all the different connections (such as USB 3.0 or Firewire etc ...) Im just wondering seeing as current imacs have firewire 800s in them would it be affected if I hooked up -

2TB External HDD (via USB) which is then transferred to 2TB External HDD (via Firewire)

The new iMac IF rumoured might have (one) USB 3.0 so I was thinking along the lines if I had to transfer the data cross to go

2TB External HDD (via Firewire) which is then transferred to 2TB External HDD (via USB 3.0)

Transfer rate would obviously be much quicker? Any reason why I should go now and not later? Apart from the fact that USB 3.0 or better firewire wouldnt be on the new iMacs.

One final sticking point really. I use iMacs generally for normal day to day stuff and Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 (thats it) and anime watching so dont really need an intensive machine.

you could wait and find that the update doesnt have usb3 its currently just a rumour and could stay that, where as the machines now are quite capable but i understand the amount of data to transfer but putting it of my not bring the updates ur thinking off
