Finally - Airpods vs Earpods!

Well,

as I suspected, the Earpods and Airpods sound virtually the same.

Duh the only difference is a 0.5 mm driver and materials.

Really what you're paying for with Airpods.. battery case for on the go, convenience of connecting to your Apple devices quickly. The biggest shocker for me was connecting to Apple TV. So awesome to have tv or a movie running on that device, listening to it with my airpods without any wires and working on my macbook. Granted I could run the movie in the background on my macbook but this does free up those resources. Sounds dumb i'm sure.. but it's that type of convenience that made the Airpods purchase for me all worth while. Sound quality.. ah, I don't really care so much. I still listen to LP's that are all scratched up and convert old cassette tapes to mp3's because I like certain older audio books that will never be released again. Guess it just depends what you are looking for in a headset. If you want audio quality, definitely get something else. If you want portability and ease of use.. Airpods are pretty great!

I’d still take my AirPods over EarPods any day of the week.

I find them a better fit for my ears. The seamless connectivity is great and no wires getting in the way

Give me AirPods over Earpods everyday. Just not having the wires catch the door knobs or items on my desk or dragging my phone on to the floor. I think they sound great.

They sound very similar to me.
I use both, daily.

People routinely tell me I sound much clearer and more "present" and with less latency when doing calls/voice chats on my wired EarPods, which is why they are still in my daily rotation - for that usage exclusively.

I think so…

I tried an experiment a while back by cutting the wires off of a dead pair of Earpods.

They didn't keep falling out of my ears as they used to.

I suspect the weight of the wires, the way they swing when I move makes them less stable in my ears. So the Airpods might — just might — be on my to buy list soon…

But that is just my experiment. YMMV.

This is actually a really good side-by-side comparison, and it literally breaks down anything and everything someone would want to know between the wired and Bluetooth AirPods. I will say the advantage to the AirPods themselves, is that they can receive updates to iOS, which one of the first updates with the AirPods, was that it improved the sound quality by making them somewhat louder and the base/treble was allegedly improved. I personally think there is a distinct sound difference between the AirPods and wired EarPods, but everybody hears things differently as well.

It's a great site. I was debating buying Shure SE215, SE315, SE415 and thanks to this site, the SE215 actually appear to be the best ones. Rather than someone opinion (which is always biased when something is owned) rtings actually analyse each headphone.

I’m not aware of any other sites that have side-by-side comparisons that are direct as the one that you provided, especially in the context of the AirPods, which I will book- Mark for future use.

It could be this to be fair. Also, possible becuase the stems are chunkier making them a bit more weighty and stable
