Well I just downloaded and installed the demo app. And I must say it works great! I downloaded, installed and paired with my Stowaway Keyboard in about 2 minutes. Not one issue came up.

Currently it only works from within the demo app, but that is supposed to change in a few days.

For the record I am in no way affiliated to the developer of the software. Just someone that's been wanting an external KB.

I saw this post, and I immediately opened Cydia and installed this app. I have it working with my Apple bluetooth keyboard, YAY!!! It's sooooo much easier to type on a real keyboard. Looking forward to seeing it work with other apps, but for now, I can copy and paste the text from the keyboard app into other apps. Thanks much for letting us know!

No problem at all.

Glad it's working for you as well.

it works great, just what I was looking for

I downloaded the BTStack Keyboard driver from cydia and bought a palm bluetooth wireless keyboard on eBay.

I've been waiting for Apple to implement this but I'm glad that someone was able to do this.

It works really well. You open the "Keyboard" app and I open up the bluetooth keyboard and hit the bluetooth pairing button and then select the keyboard on the iPhone.

Once you've done this, hit the home button and the keyboard app has a red "On" badge. I've tried it out in Mail and Notes and it works well so far. You can use the arrow keys to navigate around the text field, though you still need to hit the screen buttons for certain actions (hitting send in mail and even moving between text fields).

This setup is perfect during trips when we don't want to bring a laptop. It's great for journaling and email during trips. I had a palm pda with folding travel keyboard that I took when trekking in Tibet and on a multi-day bike trip. The keyboard only weighs about 6 oz. This can replace that setup now.

Here is more info on the keyboard driver:

Yup it is working great.

The only thing(s) I would like to see changed is, letting the user define the time interval before the BT disconnects and, the option of keeping BT ON upon disconnecting. BT uses very little battery and with having BT handsfree in my Jeep I keep it on all the time.

Other then that, it's great!

Why not in App Store?

This seems like a very practical and obvious idea for an app.
Why is it only on Cydia and not in the App Store?
Hmmmm, has Apple been consciously blocking these apps so far.
Could they be saving it for iPhone OS 4.0 to correspond with a feature which will also be on the new TABLET......?
