I ran to all the local stores today hoping to get my grubby little paws on one today, stopped at a Best Buy out here, they had it on the floor, but they told me that they didn't keep them stocked, only in the warehouses... uh? Why have it on the floor? LOL... nonetheless, I ended up having to order it from Apple, I grabbed the nx420 printer too, we could probably use it, and I picked up the AppleCare.

It's listed as Prepared For Shipment, does that mean it should ship soon? Can't wait till I can post pictures of my new machine. First time Mac owner.:apple:

Why bother posting pictures? They all look the same.

Congrats on your purchase, you will love it :) :D

Hey guys, what would be the cheapest and easiest way of backing up my data from my old hard drives ? My PC crashed 3 months ago, but the hard drives are still functional so I was hoping to get my data transfered off them... lots of years of memories. Taking them to someone is out of the question :(

My iMac shipped from CA last night and it's on it's way from Sacremento all the way to Toledo, Ohio, hope I don't have to wait till the 5th, I'm so anxious!

I'd highly recommend contacting Apple and upgrading your processor to the i7 if you're going to be using the machine for work. It is a relatively inexpensive addition that will add at least a year to your iMac's technical lifespan.

I appreciate the idea but I thought about it and I don't really need turbo boost, my last pc wasw 2.41ghz single core amd, so I'm getting a substantial upgrade either way, and multitrack rexording is what ill be doing (maybe up to 32 channels), sorry for bad typing, on a droid and am half asleep

two more days till it's gonna be here and I can't wait. The printer was delivered yesterday, but I wasn't home. Oh phooey.

DROID!! Well at least you are starting to see the light with the iMac, congrats!
Thanks, but I'm on Verizon, I want an iPhone but there's no chance of that. My ipod touch holds me over though.

WHOOO, I'm typing to you from my brand new i5 iMac, and so far, I'm incredibly happy with it... (I haven't played with it at all) and from what I can see the display is absolutely flawless.

glad to hear you're pleased with your purchase. post some pics when you get the chance. we'd love to see your setup
