Haven't been around in a while, but thought this was as good a reason as any to check in.
I bought my first 20" iMac (first apple computer, too) in Jan 06 when Apple started using the intel chip. I instantly fell in love. I couldn't believe that I'd been on a PC for so long. And adamently so.
2 years later, at new release time I wanted another one... a new one. But I didn't buy. My iMac was fine. And on and on... an Apple TV, MacBook, multiple iPods and an iPad later... I found myself coming up on my 5 year anniversary (this Jan) and thought... it's time to do the deal.
So I just bought this config:
IMAC 27"/5750/SD
With the following configuration:
PROCESSOR 065-0056 2.8GHZ QUAD-CORE INTEL CORE I5

COUNTRY KIT 065-9500 COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 27-INCH
I know I coulda saved about a hunge by buying 3rd party memory (I did this with my first iMac) but I wanted this thing to arrive ready to go. I'm SO excited. I can't wait for my new baby to arrive. It literally feels like I'm waiting for a new baby to come into the family.
Yeah, I have a problem I guess. Hahahahah.
Even better news is-- I really didn't NEED this. My first gen intel iMac is still chugging along fine. This was a complete "it's time" buy-- it's not based on anything other than it's been 5 years since I last bought. So the old iMac will get cleaned up (externally and internally) and put into the kid's room. They're already apple kids using my current iMac and mom's MacBook, but now they'll have their own.
Very, very excited!
Sorry for the rant. But most of you know how I'm feeling and I'm sure will excuse it.
