Finally devs are catching up with the new resolution

So Apple‘s deadline has passed and it appears that some slow developers like Amazon are finally catching up and are updating their apps. Great! I‘m still worried if we will ever see full support, because in the guideline it says they have to support either the iPhone XS screen OR the iPad 12.9“, but I guess most developers will just take it as a warning that soon both will be obligatory and just do it properly already.

What about the iPhone XR and iPhone XS Max? Will they have to update the resolution for those phones too if they chose iPhone?

No, as far as I understand once a developer embraces the new format they will all be supported.

I’ll be happy to see my native 2388x1668 resolution in PUBG, and a few other titles. Most games already support it though. Some developers really are slack, and that’s the least important thing they are worried about device optimization.
