I never had a problem with my D750 but I finally sent it in for the service recall. For others that might not have done it yet I just wanted to report it all went very well. I was very happy to see that they also cleaned the sensor which it was in great need of. Here's a list of what all Nikon did (for free). Anybody know what adjust shutter speeds is about?

I've submitted mine for its recall some weeks ago, but I am still waiting for them to call it in. I need it next week so will chase them up after that.

Sensor clean sounds like a good idea, but like you I've never seen a problem with the light flare issue.

How long was it gone for?

It wasn't very long, less than 2 weeks. Of course I'm in the States so not sure if that makes a difference. Mine went to New York. "Waiting for them to call it in"? What's that about? I went online and put the serial # in and the system gave me a UPS label to print out and I boxed it up and sent it to them the next day. I was surprised they swapped out the rubber pieces and cleaned the sensor but I'm glad they did.
