was debating going to get a MBP but with the constant keyboard failures ive been scared off. My plan is to add external storage + E-GPU. honestly id rather edit on my big screen with my sound system. i know some will feel its a compromise but going from two cores to six should help me with my moderate workload via FCX

attached are my current spec'd MBP and the mini i plan to order. + i also plan on swapping out my own ram!

My wife’s previous computer was a 2009 MBP. She upgraded to a maybe a 2016 or 2017 a while back. The jump was astounding. I think you’ll find any computer jump nearly a decade forward will be massive.
I’m happy that you were able to get so much lifetime out of that device.

It’s still chucking along and one of the last fully upgradable models so I may revamp it after I purchase the new main set up just for a mobile option! I’m excited to make the jump man!
