This is a game changer. It's much, much faster and lighter weight than Docker for Desktop or Colima and manages even virtual machines! The Rosetta emulation is butter smooth and just works. For work I need to deal with some Docker stuff which is still x86 so because of the very poor performance of Docker for x86 on my M1 mini, I was using an Intel MBP first and then a VPS as remote Docker engine. With Orb Stack I no longer need these.

Give it a try if you run containers and virtual machines :)

Thanks for letting us know. That sounds great. I run my Docker containers on my slow x86 NAS, but this certainly could be very useful for a lot of people and I'm sure that I'll find a use for it at some point. I may even try it out for work, as the ability to execute x86 Linux code on our Apple Silicon Macs could definitely help us.

It looks like it will use a subscription model like Docker. It would be shocking if a paid solution could kill Docker.

Any idea how it can beat Docker and Colime on all metrics?

Yep. I am using it now and like it, but no way I will pay a sub for it.
