Well, I have been reading these forums for a couple of years now, but I have never posted. As of last Sunday though, I am the proud new owner of a 20-inch iMac G5 2.1ghz, and I am the happiest man in the land.

I'd just like to tell all you folk out there that might be umming and ahhing about whether or not to buy the new iMac, that they are damn sexy machines and I could not be happier with mine. The only adjustment I plan to make is with another 1gb RAM from Crucial and then it will be perfect - not to say that I have noticed any real need for extra memory this early on, but once I start making movies etc it should come in handy.

To you RAM specialists out there reading this: does a 1gb stick from Crucial sound like the right idea?

Crucial is a great place to get RAM. They are highly trusted and respected.

At first your 1GB of RAM may not be noticeable, but leave your apps running, and you'll notice it :)

I forgot to say that I have been on Windows up till now, but I was sick and tired of them stuffing up and Apple's products were just the most beautiful things that I had ever laid eyes on. First came my iPod Photo 30gb and now my iMac. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh life is good. :)

Thanks mate.

From what people say on this site, they sound like they are definitely one of the most reliable suppliers. I might have to go and order a stick today.

Bad luck. I tried to order a 1GB stick from Crucial but they are out of stock apparently so I'll have to live with 512mb for a while I guess.:(

2nd the motion for Macsales.com

I just ordered a gig for my new powerbook.

OWC/Macsales has an easy 'find your mac' way of presenting upgrades, so you shouldnt be buying the wrong memory unless youre drunk or stoned.

Not that I havent ebayed crunked and regretted it...
