Well thanks to EVERYONE here!

It went amazing - everything went as planned drive installs, ram, back ups, file locations - EVERYTHING -

I knew NOTHING going in, it was from all your knowledge I rocked it!!

Thank you!!

As you can see by the pics I have not installed Logic or Final Cut - BUT I am typing this from the new CPU!! Still have to get my Studio Monitors but AMAZING.

The Apogee Duet you can see on the desk is an amazing purchase, helping my sound so much! Tomorrow will be the first broadcast with the new system. Next month I will be replacing the Samsung with another 5770 card and ACD - they are just to awesome and looking at the Samsung just hurts LOL.

I am so pumped, and as I said the FORUM ROCKED - my checklist went off as planned and the six core has a new home :)

Thank YOU! To Everyone - and yes my chair is an exercise ball. In my spare time I am an HaganaH Israeli Fight Instructor :) So I have to stay on my toes :)

Very nice, love your 'chair'! Maybe someday I will have to get one to try it out but I suspect I will be hard-pressed to give up my Aeron. :D

congrats... great setup. Share more about the rest of your gear - mics, reference monitors, other audio equipment, hd camera, etc.... would be really interesting.

The old samsung TV/display must look really bad in comparison.... what are your new displays? 27"s ACDs?

Thanks everyone!!!

I do mostly podcasts and I am starting to get into video

My mics are:

XLR -

Sennheiser MD431II
Trion 6000

Rode Podcaster - usb mic

My camera currently is a Cannon HG10 - actually works well, but I am thinking about the new Cannon XF100 but I am waiting for the new version of FCP

I keep things pretty simple, but put out a lot of content, have 23 websites going right now. Taking it day by day!!!!

As I get the new system up and running will help with what I learn, had some issues with the Apogee Duet today but got it rocking.

Thank you everyone!!

Very nice setup man, clean and crisp! :)

What are your thoughts on the Trackpad vs the Magic Mouse? I'm in music production and will be working from my MBP on the road, and like the feel of a traditional mouse, like I have in the home studio.

Trion 6000

What's your impression on CAD mics? how has this one worked for you? I don't quite like the design, and I've read mixed reviews about it.... currently I'm in the market for an inexpensive large condenser.

JB! I am glad to see it is all up and running that is awesome. shoot me a link to your first video you produce with the system. I watched your last one you posted as well! Its refreshing having the system you need now at your disposal isnt it?!

On audio

@diazj3 I do primarily vocals ie. podcasting. This mic was a recommendation from my vocal coach and I tell you for the price it has good sound. Pretty happy with it so far and the price is amazing. Today was my first podcast up with it so I will let you know the reaction from my crowd.

It is super clear, but this is my first recording with the Apogee and that really could be the apogee. The two of them together just rock.

This video gives you a little bit on the mic =

@rmitchell248 last night was FCS install, today is LS - so I am getting there, but wow, it is awesome. Really getting in the grove as far as my production. The speed just helps me so much as far as getting more done. Now it is about studying and getting better with my workflow, but very happy so far :)

I will post the next video for sure - thank you very much for all the help!! The checklist rocked, I am 90% set up. Have to grab my studio monitors but overall massive win!

Thank You,
JB

I love the original post. I'd just have to correct one thing:
"HE is here."

All the greatest technology in the world is created by men. And I do emphasize..not a drop less than 100%. Call a ship a lady, sure. Whatever. But tech is very masculine. :)

I think we do a disservice to call technology anything else but "He." It's like our son. There's no higher compliment to great gear than that!

WTF? Male love and desire has classically been for the feminine. That's why it is a "she". It is a desired object. You can desire the masculine if you like but it would be a personal departure.

Times are a changing. I'm hetero, don't get me wrong. But I think our world is in a short phase where it has forgotten the beauty of the beauty, charm and class of males. Apple products seem far more masculine than feminine. When I see a MacBook Pro or iPad I think of Michelangelo's Statue of David...not the Mona Lisa.

I can't believe we are discussing how to add the proper pronouns to our equipment.
