After a year of hemming and hawing I've finally purchased a new Mac. I ordered a refurbished 2.66 Mac Pro today and I'm excited and scared all at the same time!!

Now all I need is a new widescreen monitor, new speaker monitors, ram, hard drives, bluetooth/airport, a better video card, logic pro, mics, preamps, a D/A audio converter, a digital hardware mixer, about a hundred VST's/Audio apps, windows (for games) and might as well throw in a kitchen sink!! :D

Hope I get one with some extra's. The x1900 or extra ram would be nice surprise :)

Congrats! It sounds like you have taken the biggest of the steps needed to set up one sweet production platform. Have a great time putting it all together!

Congratulations:) What are you going to be doing with your Mac Pro? Do you work in a studio?

Thanks. I'm a working musician (keys) and teacher and am slowly putting together a home studio for writing/recording/transcribing/arranging and teaching. Next purchases will be the 24 inch Dell monitor, studio monitors (audio), Logic Express, Synthogy Ivory (a great virtual piano), ram and hard drives. Then I won't really be able to buy anything else until next fall except maybe a cheap A/D converter or audio card to hold me over until I can get a good one.

Was that way too much information?? Sorry I guess i was 'thinking out loud' heh.
