Okay, so I was slow to remove the screen cover that shipped with the iPhone. But my new iPhone screen covers arrived in the mail today, so I slowly removed the old shipping screen cover, and held my iPhone for the first time, completely naked. Oooh-weee. What a gem!!!

It feels like iDay all over again! It's so shiny and sleek. And the Home button is so soft to the touch. I want to go back and do all of my iPhone presentations over.

With the shipping cover, I had to push the Home button hard, so I never knew how soft it was nor how responsive the iPhone is to it. Everything is super fast now. Had I known this, I would have gotten an appropriate cover early. Also, screen covers made for the iPhone reveal the Home and ear speaker (top). Someone pointed that out, but I wasn't aware.

So if anyone is like me and fearful of completely undressing your iPhone, just take it off.

That screen cover won't protect you against accidental drops that may scratch or scar the metal casing... So also get a rubber case (InCase makes a good one that still fits in your pocket) so you have something grippy and thick enough to protect the casing, plus it has a bit of a lip over the face so that if you drop it flat on its face it will still give a little protection (assuming the surface it lands on is flat and the fall isn't very far).

The iPhone body is a bit slippery and the rubber case is nice not only for ensuring it doesn't slip out of your pocket but also out of your hand, especially when trying to do two-thumb typing.

Yeah it might look clunkier but you'll be crying if you bang up that phone.

Thanks, but I already have two cases. My iPhone is protected in the clear Belkin case. So I have a case and a screen cover, but thanks for the advice :)
