I have had a black macbook since November 2007 (2.2 ghz, 2 gb). I have enjoyed it a lot ever since I bought it (first mac computer).
Now, I just bought the highly anticipated Them Crooked Vultures album. I put it into my CD drive. It takes forever for iTunes to recognize it. The iTunes icon bounces up and down for a long time with a beach ball. It recognized and I was whew!
Then I press the play button to start the album. It doesn't ever play. It frozed and the beach ball continues to show up every time I run my cursor over iTunes. I tried restarting. Same thing happened. It even takes forever to eject the disc.
I am really UPSET that I cannot enjoy this new TCV album as I have nothing else in my college apt to put my cd in besides the car. It is starting to justify my reason to get an iMac. Is this serious problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Have you tried any other cds?

It could be the CD that's the problem.

How is this being "victimized"?

Im just saying my mac is messing up by victimized with a bad product.

But how can the CD be the problem if its brand new and it works in my car?

I have watched a movie on here a couple of days ago.

Try another CD. If it does the same thing then it's your Mac (probably the Super Drive); if it doesn't happen again then it's the CD. Does the CD have any anti-piracy crapware loaded on it?

I tried another CD. A movie. It worked. I see a FBI Anti piracy icon on the back along with a written one next to it saying what punishment there is for pirating.

That cannot possibly prevent me from listening it on my computer....
If so, you can only listen to it on freaking stereo boxes?

I've heard stories about anti-piracy tricks applied to CDs to prevent them from being played on a computer. If it's a new cd then it's quite possible it has some nasty stuff to prevent the computer from reading it. does the Cd play on a regular cd player?

I don't have any cd player to play it on except my car. It worked in my car.
