Hi.
I lost my ipod Touch somewhere. I lost it when it was dead. Yesterday I checked on MobileMe and tried to send it a message and a remote lock but it said that they where pending for a whole day now...
So, that means that nobody found it and charged it yet. I never installed any tracking apps, and I didn't turn on current location. I was on a bus, and I had the Ipod. When I got off, I might of put it away but my lunch box broke at the same time when I tried to pull my backpack up off of the floor, so I don't remember it that well. When I got home I didn't look for it right away, but a little later I tried to look. I didn't see it and tried emptying some of the backpack to try to find it, but I still couldn't find it. However, I do have the serial number, so if there is anyway to track the ipod touch using the serial number that would be great! I really do not want to lose it forever.

Thanks in advance! :)

Find My iPhone only works if your iPod touch is connected to wifi, and unfortunately that doesn't look like the case. I guess you can keep trying, but you have to assume the people who found it has a way to charge the device and wants to get online somewhere and/or give it back to you.

I know how it feels, I thought I lost my iTouch in someones car I might at a party, and for a week straight I annoyed the hell outta him on fb...but luckily it was actually just under my bed.

Unfortunately, if you dropped it off on the bus, you are probably not going to ever get it back (for a variety of reasons).

Serial # tracking

So, does this mean that there is no way to track the device via serial number?

(I have a situation similar to the OP, but we believe that my son's iPod was stolen and we have a suspicion of who is in possession of it.) Is it at all possible to trace it if it has been restored and is in use?

Hello,
If you clap your hands it will start whistling so you know where it is.
The light will then come out of the screen, find you, and direct you to it :) It's magic really

Thanks

A friend of mine had their ipod touch stolen recently and they submitted their serial number to stolen911.com. I'm not sure how reliable the site is since my friend hasn't said whether they have gotten it back yet. I'm doubtful though.

This is so helpful, thanks! :(

I have been a lurker in this forum for quite some time because the advice and responses that the majority of you give is quite knowledgable and on point (so much so that I have never asked a question before, having found the answers already provided). I have always appreciated that in the past.
