I’ve had my AirPods for nearly a year now and use them basically every single day. It doesn’t happen frequently, but once in a while I’ll misplace them.

Every time this has happened, I go into the Find my iPhone app and tap on my AirPods. Every time, it’s been unable to locate them.

It simply states that the AirPods are “offline”. Trying to play the sound does nothing. Most of the time when I misplace them, they were simply within Bluetooth distance- so why couldn’t it find them? Even if they were out of range, isn’t the app supposed to mark their last known location?

Has Find my AirPods worked for anyone else at all? If so, did you have to do anything special? So far I’ve had a 0% success rate with it.
