Hi all,

How do you change the device that your location is shared from? Prior to iOS 13 you could do this from the find my friends app but the option is no longer there on the find my app (see screenshot from my app today).

I think it is determined by the device you are running the app on.

that won’t be the case - all devices signed into iCloud will by definition and default have the find my app running.

previously you could choose which device the location was shared from.
Also, think about it. If I have an iPad and two iPhones / I need to be able to select which one is being used as the device to show where I am to my friends

There is an Apple support article here which discusses all this which says this :-

Change your sharing device
To change the device that you're sharing your location from, open Find My on that device. Select the Me tab, then choose Use this [device] as My Location.

Basically you have to be on the device you want to share from and turn it on which in turn deactivates it on the other device.

I saw that and did indeed try on the other device but it didn’t give me the option.
Gonna sign in and out and try again.

Are you looking for this?

Settings -> tap your face at top to go to iCloud settings -> Find My
