Find My cannot find my AirPods Pro 2

Does Find My work with your AirPods Pro 2?

I thought I lost my AirPods Pro 2 during recent taxi ride. Find My showed the last GPS coordinates of the AirPods 30 miles from my house. The function of playing sound from the charging case did not work.
I had already said goodbye to my AirPods. But the next day I accidentally found them in the pocket of a fabric suitcase. It turns out that Find My could not detect the AirPods Pro 2 in the charging case, which was in the same room as me, being fully charged.

Maybe I do not understand how Find My is supposed to work?

I have an iPhone SE 2022.

I have had Find My lose the ability to find my APP2 as well. Clicking the button to have them make a sound would just spin forever trying to connect. I ended up forgetting them in my bluetooth settings and then doing a factory reset. When it connected again, it worked as expected.

Thanks for your reply. I just checked again - Find My doesn't work yet for my AirPods Pro 2.

I reconnected AirPods to my iPhone. Find My cannot produce the sound. But when I opened the case, AirPods started to generate a sound. So it seems to be useless when earphones are being inside the lost case.

I just opened my AirPods Pro 2 case and it said "Not your AirPods Pro". Looks like some update has broken something. Had to re-pair.

While they were in this state, FindMy couldn't find them either.

Do you have more than one device and do they all use the same Apple ID to login?
