Find my completely hosed in 15.3.1

Since updating to 15.3.1 Find my has been totally broken for us (iPhone 13 minis that are 3 months old). It just totally gives the wrong location e.g. at home when the person is 20 miles away. Doesn’t update even when killing and restarting the Find app. Doesn’t matter if I search by person or device it’s just completely off. Oh well, I’ll resort to calling them and asking where they are

Have you tried reset all settings? It didn’t happen to me, maybe it’s just system setting issues.

Location alerts in general seem messed up now.

Wife was logging into iPad using my account, and the login approval said the location was in Scotland (I live in the South of England)

Slightly different to the OPs issue but Custom names for people that are in my find my list don’t work and will change if I edit them on a different device. Example: When my mum is at her house, on my iPad she shows at my house but on my iPhone she shows correctly at her house. If I edit the iPad to be at her house it will change the name to Gym, work or school. It’s a similar thing with all my find my contacts. I have reported this and they say less than 10 on the Feedback app and still not fixed. I’m adding this to the list, ever growing that is, which Apple have screwed up and won’t fix.

I’ve found a solution to this: use a device that has iOS 14 to view the location! Thankfully I didn’t update my other devices to 15 so I just use my old iPhone’s Find app to see where the other party is.
