Find My Friends - Location Labels..?

Been using this app for the last few days and enjoying it.

Quick question: How does the label mechanism work? I understand if I am in a spot I can label it, but is this cached somewhere? Can I reset my label inputs? Is it just for me or everyone?

If anyone can shed some light from their experience or point me in the right direction regarding labeling one's own location I would be much appreciative.

You can change them by tapping on the label.

If you entered a custom one, tap on it to edit you can then swipe on it and select to delete.

And they are also displayed to anyone who follow's you
