I fall asleep with the new airpods 4 anc every night and wake up to them having fallen out.
Sometimes it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. Always thought the «find my» feature would work, but when they fall out, the battery drains making the feature useless. It only works if you need to find them right away or else the battery is dead. I have «turn off playing» when sleeping turned on. Really whish this would turn off the buds too.
Is there a way to do this?

If you turn the noise control setting to “off” it should alleviate this problem.

ANC, transparency mode , and adaptive mode all consume battery even when media is paused.

Have them all turned off, still the battery is drained wake up.

To be clear, are your AirPods set to “Off” under Listening Mode in Control Center?

Must be an issue with AirPods 4. My Pro 2 turn off ANC automatically if they fall out of my ears during the night and they always retain some charge for many hours. They are also more comfortable for sleep and stay in quite well usually. You don’t need to turn off ANC manually as the 4 will also turn it off as long as you have ear detection enabled.

The regular AirPods have always been a bit lackluster in every regard and seem to fail sooner than Pros but I have no way to prove that. If you can switch them out for a pair of Pro 2’s on sale I recommend that. Better sound, better ANC, better battery, and working Find My.
