I don't usually run with a passcode on my iPad/iPhone because I'm rarely on the move, but in iOS4 I was pretty sure I could locate, lock and or wipe my device whenever I wanted if it were to be stolen or lost.
In iOS5, you can turn "Find my iDevice" off under location services?? Really?
So if I'm stealing an iPhone and it's not passcode locked, I can disable the owner's ability to lock/wipe it? Seems a bit pointless to give users the option to lock their missing phone if the thief turned off that capability in Location Services. I can't be sure, but I don't think you could do that in iOS4
I enabled Restrictions on my devices, and locked location service changes. I'm hoping that will prevent someone from turning off the Find my iPhone feature after walking off with the phone. Can anyone confirm that it wasn't possible to disable that feature on iOS4? Maybe I'm just crazy.
