Running into the same problem. Hopefully someone has a solution soon. I was planning on using this feature once my subscription expires for Hidden.

I can use it, but when going to icloud.com it says me that my mac is not connected to the internet.
I made a Lion clean install when it was released, maybe this is related to the recovery partition.

I've got an even stranger problem. On my MBP, I can enable Find My Mac just fine and everything looks dandy, but when I go to the site or access the iOS app, the Mac is no where to be found, its not even listed as a device to find.

Same problem

I'm haivng the same problem on my MacBook. When I originally installed Lion I did a clean instal and I don't think it created the recovery partition. I also don't run my account as administrator so I had to change that too

I found one possible solution but haven't tried it because I don't want to go through the trouble of restoring Lion from Time Machine if something goes bad. But here's a link I found for creating a Lion Recovery Partition: http://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20110730045914590

Let us know if it works :D

I'll bump this. I'm having the same problem, but it says I need the "Recovery system update". The thing is, I am fully updated...

I'm also suffering from this issue. What's annoying me the most is that I _do_ have a working recovery partition. I also have a Win7 and a GRUB partition on the same disk, but I can't live without them, and I have no intention of reinstalling in various configurations for debugging purposes.

I've tried repairing disk and repairing permissions, but that didn't do the trick.

I've also tried applying this http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1464 but the installer says something about not being able to verify javascript and hence I can't install it.

I guess the next step is to try the 10.7.2 combo updater, but I'm out of time for today.

If someone finds a solution or just got a hunch, let me know =)

I got my recovery partition back! All I did was boot from an install disc (made from the Lion installer app), choose to install a fresh copy of Lion on the drive (without erasing anything first), and basically walk away from my Mac for about a half an hour.

When I returned to it, I was expecting dialogs for setting up a username, etc, but it was just the log in screen. I logged in, thinking I must have missed some important prompt and that I'd have to reboot from the installer again.

However, Find My Mac works now, as well as FileVault. I thought I would be spending the evening waiting for my data to restore from the Time Machine backup, but everything else is still intact. It's like the installer just "fixed" the current Lion installation.

Follow up to my previous post: The installer (10.7.2) sets iTunes back to 10.4.1.
