I recently switched off my iPhone 12 Pro Max, as it was low on battery and I wasn't able to charge it right away. I was surprised when it said that the battery was completely empty when trying to switch it on today. I then realized that it probably had to do with iOS 15, which displays an info about "Find my" before turning it off for the first time after the update, so I probably didn't see the info and the phone stayed on until it was completely empty.
My question is: Can a single complete discharge already damage the battery? So far, I have only drained it to about 20% every time. At the moment, it still sits at 100% battery health, but I am not sure if this metric gets updated immediately after such an incident.
