Hi, I cannot find my iPhone apps that I have previously bought on my iOS 7 iPad Air on my iPad Pro's App Store, whether they are still being sold or not. I can still download those iPad apps, whether they are still being sold or not. How can I find them?

Thanks!

  • Go to App Store.
  • Click on your round profile picture in top right corner.
  • Select purchased
  • Select not on this device

I had this same problem but for different reason. This is what I did.
Go to App store>today screen. Upper right corner, tap on your profile photo. This will take you to your Account screen. Tap on you Apple ID at the top. You will get a pop-up asking you to sign in. Do that whatever way you normally would (password, fingerprint etc). You should now be in Account Settings screen. Scroll down to "Hidden Purchases". Tap on that. Here you should find your missing apps.

If you can't find it there, go back one page to Account Settings. Tap on Purchase History and look for it in there. You can go back several years to search. All apps, paid and free will be listed there. Contact Apple support and they will restore your purchase. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Same AppleID?

Maybe developer has now removed them from the Apple Store?

Maybe they’re 32-bit? (My suspicion lies here.)

I can confirm the Apple ID used is the same.

Yes, some apps were removed but I have purchased them with real cash. Furthermore, on my spare iOS devices (be it 64 bit or not, and whether they are iPads or iPhones) that are not on iOS 11, I can see all apps.

I can confirm that the affected apps are 64 bit already. Furthermore, I can see on my iOS 11 iPad Pro 2 some of the 32 bit apps, which have their download button greyed out for that reason.

Name one of the apps so that we can best assist you, otherwise we are just guessing.

The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls (Mobage version, not to be confused with its music game version known as Starlight Stage) is a good example. It was updated for iOS 11 usage according to its changelog and I had it on an iPad Pro 1 with iOS 10 before I sold it off for my iPad Pro 2. This app can also be found and downloaded on the devices I mentioned earlier.

See http://idolmaster.jp/blog/?p=8662 and https://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/idolm-ster-cinderella-girls/id927234367?mt=8 for details

Nice, I didn't realise that I can do all that! I followed these instructions and found only one such hidden app in the "Hidden Purchases" section. I can see all previously purchased apps too in "Purchase History" but there is no way I can download them from there, regardless of their status in the App Store currently. I can contact Apple Support regarding this but I would just like to see if this can be resolved without their help first.

Sorry, I cannot be of any help. I only have access to US store and iTunes contacts at the US store. The app is not available within the US store.

It is not a user friendly change, especially for my son who is autistic and wants to use his IPad independently without having to try and communicate with me verbally. What seems a simple change really isn’t when you have to learn the new route and if he goes the new route he is also right next to my acct button and other things I don’t want him accessing

No prob, I may have apps that were no longer available in Japanese store but available in the US store, let me check

Indeed, this is a very unfriendly change! I can't see the rationale behind this!

Also, I have approached Apple Store Singapore for help, they directed me to call a certain helpline as they are in a better position to help. We'll see how this goes
