Finder become really slow! URGENT!

Hi Guys

I recently installed a new font on my MacBook Air called San Fransisco which is the font for the Apple Watch and put it in ~/Library/Fonts/. Finder has been really slow in opening files and opening folders since. I can't seem to find the default fonts anymore.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I pulled out the font and default font is back. Finder still seems to open folders really slowly. I have tried to repair disk permissions, clear caches, reset SMC and PRAM, etc.

Mate your not going to get the system fonts back, the only way they would have gone is because YOU deleted them! You can't get them back even if you try. The only way is to re install Yosemite. Deleting fonts won't make finder slow. Have you checked your space. As I know your computer has 4GB of RAM it's unlikely that thats the problem. Also that isn't how you change the system font and install fonts anyway. There is a square called a trackpad with a mouse. First step is to put your finger on the trackpad and move it until your mouse is over the top of the font file. Then what you do is you push down on the trackpad, good that is called a click. The a box will pop up prompting you to install the font. Press INSTALL FONT, then the font will be installed. P.S Don't start a forum with a question about FONTS, does it look like anyone cares? Clearly you think your up yourself by being so cool by changing the system font and you think you know everything about OS X. Clearly you DONT!

Mate, I think I know how to use a Mac pretty well. I didn't have to look up anything to see how to reset SMC, etc. You obviously didn't read that I pulled out the fonts and the default font returned. I know how to use a trackpad as well. It would be funny to see if you changed your system font to San Fransisco . Also how do you know that I have 4 GB of RAM? Someone else has posted something about fonts just below me with 8 replies to it. Don't be so aggressive. I'd just like help fixing Finder, because I have tried doing the obvious fixes.

Theres no fix then, and I have changed to San Fransisco and I go to your school and the computers have soldered RAM you can't change the ram it comes with 4GB and theres no changing it.

That very problem happened to me and I can tell you that you have to either wipe the hard drive and start again or restore a time machine backup.

That very problem happened to me and I can tell you that you have to either wipe the hard drive and start again or restore a time machine backup.

YOU CANT DO THAT! You need to contact IT so they can re install Yosemite because they need to put the remote control systems on there swell as the firewalls etc. TAKE IT TO IT TOMORROW THEN YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED. IM JUST WARNING YOU THAT YOU WILL GET IN TROUBLE IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF.

Do you really go to the same school? And did he install san francisco on the school computers (and accidentally messed them up)? Poor guy

We pay the school for our Mac's, and there ours we just can't mess them up, if he re installs OS X he's in big trouble because he didn't tell IT about it and then they have to re install it again and put all the firewalls, blocks and image the computer etc. thats why he can't do it.
