Hello, for some reason my finder was working fine and then upon reopening began to use the wrong icons for files (for example .docx icon for folders and sometimes open files other than the ones I clicked on. ) Any idea on how I can reset it?

If that doesn't work, delete com.apple.finder.plist and then restart.
(found in User's Library/Preferences folder - hold down Option, click Go and select Library)
