When i use my smartphone to take a pic it uploads it to the camera upload folder on my computer automatically. when i go review pics I press cmd+delete to remove the pics I don't like, but Finder does not automatically refresh to window to reflect the new selection of pics (the old pic's icon is still there and if i click on it a popup box saying the pic is not there, well it is not there because i deleted it).

i have to close the finder window and open a new finder window for the pics to refresh. does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

it didn't use to be this way in OS 10.9 but after the update to 10.10 a couple of months back it is like this now and it is a bit annoying.

Not with pictures. Finder is working as should be for me, EXCEPT...

When I'm making 7z files via Keka, the resulting file is not showing up. Need to close the Finder window and reopen to see.

So, seems like something amiss in Finder, just depends on one's workflow.

I'd try using XtraFinder. At the very least you can add a refresh option to the right click menu so you can reload the window faster/easier.

Is there a way to "fix" this without installing something external? This is a pretty serious issue, you know that Windows Explorer never had a problem like this (refreshing icons), so why does Finder can't get it right?

Yes
so why does Finder can't get it right?
Finder window updates went from synchronous to asynchronous several OS versions ago, when Apple tried to become more network friendly. They still haven't got update priority right for local devices.
